Changeling (2008)

This is a 2008 release from Imagine Entertainment featuring Angelina Jolie as Christine Collins, a single mother who returns home from work one evening only to find her 9 year old son, Walter (Gattlin Griffith), missing. Christine calls and pressures the LAPD to conduct a search. After a tormenting 5 months a young boy matching Walter's description is found in Illinois. Almost immediately upon being reunited Christine realizes that this isn't her son. The LAPD tries to convince her she is mistaken and that this is really her son. At home it very soon becomes even more apparent that this is not Walter and Christine joins a minister, Rev. Gustav Briegleb (John Malkovich) in her criticism of the Police Department, who responds by putting her in an institution.

Meanwhile a cop travels to an old run down ranch to find a Canadian boy who is in the country illegally. When he catches the boy he ends up running into a disturbing story. An investigation into the boys story leads to a grisly and disturbing story and the truth about Walter.

I was impressed by this movie, it was more moving and touching than I had expected. The twists and turns in this film are truly disturbing and keep the story running. This movie was rated R and deserves the rating, it's probably not for everyone but I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.
