Unthinkable (2010)

This is a 2010 release featuring Samuel L Jackson as "H," a black ops interogator, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Agent Helen Brody. The story begins when a convert to Islam sends the US Government a video of himself nondescript storage rooms standing next to, what he describes, as nuclear or dirty bombs. Steven Arthur Younger (Micheal Sheen) then allows himself to be caught and H is called to interogate him. In the mean time Agent Brody has been tasked with tracking down the bombs.

When Agent Brody learns of the interogation she insists on observing and what she witnesses shocks her system. She is convinced that the techniques and measures are necessary and eventually consents to observe. As time is running out to find the bombs H claims that further torture and interogation techniques are necessary and Agent Brody must authorize them. As time continues to run out she authorizes more and more heineous techniques.

Eventually things are taken to extremes that will cause you to question what you think should be allowed when dealing with terrorists or other extremists.

This is an intreguing film. On one hand the situation it puts forth and the questions it makes you ask yourself are intriguing and on the other hand what is occurring is thouroughly appalling. This is a graphic film that is not for everyone but if you want your way of thought challenged this is a good film. 3 out of 5 stars.
