Surrogates (2009)

This is a 2009 release from Touchstone Pictures featuring Bruce Willis as Detective Tom Greer.

The film is set in a futuristic world where humans remain isolated and interact with the world around them through surrogate robots. While investigating the murders of several other surrogates Detective Greer is nearly killed but discovers a strange anomaly at the same time. After his brush with death Detective Greer leaves his home for the first time in years to continue his investigation.

The ending to this film is pretty close to the best moment in the film (the other rival being the car chase) but despite that the film is pretty consistently a let down.
